This 2006 software play-through traps the viewer in their role, unable to make choices despite the many options presented. Meanwhile, the loading screen on the first channel continues throughout the entirety of the second channel video. This video is a meditation on un-reality and ludic space. The digital realm of the mid-aughts felt breathlessly real at the time and seeing it now transports us back to those years. At the same time, that digital space, when used to design the user’s ‘dream-home’, functions as a dream realm filled with disjointed images and loading times, far from the ‘dream’ experience.
